Specialist contractor Sheppard Piling installing CFA piles at a site in Hampshire, using the NDT instrumentation to ensure high production rates whilst keeping excess concrete to a minimum.
NDT was delighted to have supplied Pat Deighan (PDSS Ltd) with CFA instrumentation for this TD45 from Technodrill.
Pictured during installation of its NDT CFA instrumentation is the latest addition to the fleet of Dublin based piling contractor P J Edwards & Co - a Woltman W90DR.
Our Rotary Bored instrumentation system is being very well received by the piling industry.
The system uses standard NDT computer, data acquisition units and sensors. On multi-purpose rigs, the same system can be utilised for CFA, Soil Mixing, Rotary Bored, etc. This makes for a very versatile, economic and convenient addition to any rig. The system provides the operator with a clear display showing:
As with all NDT instrumentation modules, the RBP system is fully 'Cloud' compatible which enables customers to access near real-time data, from any device with a web-browser and from any worldwide location. Further details of ourRotary Bored instrumentation are available upon request, Piling is well underway at Footscray Road for the West Gate Tunnel project in Melbourne.
Keller is using 3 of its Junttan PM25 driven piling rigs to install approximately 4,500 precast piles, each to a maximum of 30m depth. Each rig is equipped with NDT instrumentation which provides the operator with real-time monitoring of pile depth, penetration rate, hammer blow count, hammer drop height, pile set, driving resistance and pile stresses. As well as providing this vital information during the piling process, the on-board instrumentation means a 'Safety First' exclusion zone can be maintained around the rig whilst pile driving is taking place. Keller staff can use any device with a web-browser to monitor the piling works in near real-time from any global location using NDT's groundbreaking 'NDTDataCloud' application. We recently installed CFA / SFA instrumentation to a Klemm KR709-3G, operated by Murphy Ground Engineering.
The NDT monitor was fitted to a swivelling / articulating arm which also houses the primary rig controls. This provides ultimate convenience and allows operators to view and control the instrumentation from the angle which best suits their requirements. If your requirements do not extend to a full instrumentation system, we can supply basic monitoring systems for your mini-rigs and similar plant.
Pictured below is a data logger fitted to a Klemm 709. The system has been configured to display hydraulic pressure, concrete injection pressure and mast inclination (dual-axis). The logger can be configured for a wide range of sensor types and is suitable for any application where operators need to monitor parameters for which there is no pre-existing display on the rig. Measured data are stored upon the unit and can be retrieved via the USB port on the front of the unit. Please contact us for further details on the unit and the available options. We were delighted to supply an NDT CFA instrumentation for North Equipment's latest acquisition - a CHF500 from Comacchio.
The CHF500 is the first of this model into the UK and sits alongside North's CHF450, also fitted with NDT instrumentation A bright spring morning on the M23, working with Van Elle as they install 900mm diameter piles using one of their Hutte 207 rigs.
Gemech added another NDT system to its expanding fleet with the recent instrumentation upgrade to its MDT400 CFA rig.
Working with specialist contractor Ground Developments Ltd at their Mass Mixing contract in Lossiemouth on a rainy day in November. Using a combination of NDT sensors and GPS inputs, we were able to tailor an instrumentation and monitoring solution which fit GDL's specific requirements. Having near real-time online access to the construction data via NDT's unique 'NDTDataCloud' application enabled the construction data to be monitored remotely. This proved hugely cost effective and enabled GDL's engineers to keep a very close watch on key production information as the contract progressed. GDL Project Director Wayne Barr said 'It's been a busy few months to achieve compliance in a data driven BIM environment, GDL partnered with NDTechnology to engineer a combined geodetic, grout pressure, flow, depth and mixing system for the GDL MMX operation. Utilising, our SoilMec Pumping solution, Trimbles RTK GNSS GCS system for localised positioning, NDTs Pressure, volume and flow information, we are able to provide realtime information to our onsite operators, whilst also enabling quality assurance review from the office. The system brings a new level of quality to the deep soil mixing and mass mixing field, which will further benefit GDLs ground improvement solutions.' We're pleased to announce the addition of a new range of vibration level monitoring equipment - the GVM-1 seismograph.
Operating the rugged unit couldn't be simpler - a single button click and the unit is monitoring. The unit can be supplied with a wireless alarm. This can be configured to activate when a pre-specified vibration level is close to being exceeded. The GVM-1 is available for short or long term hire. We can also provided experienced engineers if a manned site attendance is required. Please do not hesitate to contact us for hire fees and availability. It was great to catch up with many old friends in Paris at Intermat 2018.
We were also delighted our partners at Franki and Watson & Hillhouse were both displaying the NDT instrumentation fitted to their new rigs. |
