Gemech added another NDT system to its expanding fleet with the recent instrumentation upgrade to its MDT400 CFA rig.
We are delighted to continue to provide AGD Equipment with instrumentation for its range of CFA piling rigs.
This Soiltek S80 pictured below is the latest machine to join AGD's expanding fleet and was supplied with wireless pressure sensing capability - this is a very popular option on rigs with auger extensions as it negates any requirement for costly (and vulnerable) recoil cable drums. For the ultimate in flexibility and convenience, the on-board instrumentation also enables AGD to enjoy the benefit of full online fleet & contract management using our innovative NDTDataCloud solution. Pictured below is the latest of Murphy Ground Engineering's rigs to be fitted with NDT instrumentation.
This installation forms part of a program of conversion of Soilmec & Casagrande rigs where existing instrumentation is being replaced with our latest PL3000/CFA systems. G M Piling recently took delivery of their latest acquisition - a new Llamada P140-TT.
The rig is fitted with a high specification PL3000/CFA system, complete with extras such as our proprietary 'True Torque' module. This module is available as an option to our standard CFA instrumentation for any rig with user selectable gears or torque ranges. In addition to enabling the actual auger torque to be displayed (not to be confused with hydraulic motor pressure), the module provides the user with our proprietary 'Drilling Resistance' bolt-on. Conceived, developed and implemented by N D Technology, 'Drilling Resistance' provides the user with unique data during the boring phase and is an invaluable tool for identifying rock horizons and changes in soil shear modulus. We recently enjoyed a flying visit to Tollo in Italy to put the finishing touches to a PL3000/CFA system installed by Soil-Tek to one of their S60 piling rigs.
In addition to the standard range of NDT CFA sensors, the system was supplied with optional wireless concrete pressure sensing and an integrated mast inclinometer. The rig is now heading for a customer in Australia and, with the benefit of NDT's high speed two-way remote data link, its performance on job sites can be monitored remotely from our base in the UK. The cellular data link will also allow the rig's computer to be uploaded remotely with detailed piling schedules, CFA construction profiles, new software and any changes to rig or auger configuration with no requirement for an engineer to visit site. CFA rigs with auger extensions and wired concrete pressure sensors require a recoil drum to allow the rotary table to move independently of the rotary table whilst maintaining a signal from the sensor. How often do you need to replace a drum where the cable has been overstretched, or caught / snagged and damaged the recoil mechanism ? How much down time is caused ? How much extra concrete have you used whilst the pressure sensor was not working ? With NDT's innovative wireless concrete pressure sensor, expensive recoil drums and cumbersome cable extensions become a thing of the past. The wireless sensors fit into a standard NDT pipe boss and are simple to incorporate into existing NDT systems. Very low powered electronics and high capacity batteries ensure the sensors can be used for up to 2 years before a battery change is required.
Having a working concrete pressure sensor is vital for rig operators to confidently extract to lower oversupply targets. In turn, this can significantly reduce your excess concrete volumes which means a wireless concrete sensor upgrade could pay for itself in a matter of days. Please call our office to discuss your requirements or to obtain a quotation. We recently completed the installation and commission of NDT instrumentation systems to two of the first Geax rigs to arrive in the UK.
Pictured below is an EK-110 undergoing final commissioning of its PL3000/CFA system at the Warminster facility of UK agent Piling Equipment. Both rigs were fitted with NDT's wireless concrete pressure sensor which not only reduced the installation time of the systems, it also meant there was no requirement for costly recoil drums or cable extensions at the swan-neck. Dereham based piling specialist Van Elle Eastern recently completed the fitting of NDT instrumentation systems across its entire fleet of CFA piling rigs.
Pictured below is one of Van Elle's Soilmec SF50 rigs, undertaking one of its first contracts with the PL3000/CFA installed. Oundle based hire and sales specialist North Equipment has recently invested in a new Comacchio CH450 piling rig to join its expanding rental fleet.
We are delighted to have been chosen to colloborate with Robin to equip the rig with an NDT PL3000 instrumentation system. Working closely with Alessandro, Bruno and the team at Comacchio, we completed the commissioning of the NDT system at their factory near Venice, enabling the rig to be put straight to work as soon as it arrived here in the UK. We are very proud to announce that JRL Engineering recently appointed NDT as its preferred instrumentation partner.
The first of JRL's rigs to be fitted with one of our PL3000 systems was a new B360-XP, pictured here at Casagrande UK's Westcott facility during installation of the NDT equipment. The B360's instrumentation represents the first of a number of NDT systems which will be fitted across JRL's sizeable fleet of Mait & Casagrande piling rigs. Pictured below is Murphy Ground Engineering's brand new Casagrande B175XP during commissioning of its NDT PL3000/CFA instrumentation system.
Close collaboration between the teams at Casagrande, Rock Support and NDT resulted in a smooth installation and ensured the rig was fully prepared and ready for an on-time delivery to its first contract. A damp and blustery day in St Helier for AGD Equipment's Llamada P85TT, on hire to NSP Foundations as they install piles for the next phase of Jersey International Finance Centre.
The on-board PL3000/CFA instrumentation system plays a pivotal role during pile construction, allowing the operator to pinpoint precisely at what depth the underlying rock head is encountered before enabling accurate and economical regulation of the concrete placed as the auger is withdrawn. Van Elle recently took delivery of a new P140-TT - the latest machine from Llamada to join the fleet of the Nottinghamshire based piling specialist.
The on-board PL3000/CFA instrumentation system was largely fitted at Llamada's factory near Barcelona with final calibrations being undertaken in the the UK. Enhancing the instrumentation's standard specification, the PL3000/CFA supplied for this P140-TT included our optional modules for Mast Inclination and TrueTorque / Drilling Resistance. We were delighted to supply Dublin based piling specialist P J Edwards & Co. Ltd with a PL3000/CFA system for their new Llamada P240TT.
Pictured here in September 2016, the P240TT was the first of its kind to be imported into the UK and represents the latest addition to an established fleet of mostly Llamada equipment. With an impressive 420kNm of torque on tap and the ability to drill to depths of upto 41m without an auger extension, this machine is sure to make light work of most ground conditions. And with the PL3000/CFA on-board, MD Greg Edwards and his team can be assured that they have all the tools necessary to construct piles reliably, consistently and econmically. Just off the low-loader from Mike Finch and his team at Casagrande UK is Suttle Project's brand new B125-XP complete with its NDT PL3000/CFA system.
