Increasingly, instrumentation is becoming a requirement for contracts where smaller / cab-less rigs are deployed.
Whether it's CFA, SFA, Displacement, Soil Mixing or Rotary Bored piling, NDT can provide the solution. Pictured above is one of Southern Piling's fleet of Klemm-709 machines which now enjoy the benefits of NDT instrumentation. Please call 023 8046 5992 for an informal chat about NDT instrumentation and the advantages it could offer your company. A lovely day for Greenhow Plant Engineering to be installing NDT instrumentation to the first Sany SR235 to arrive in the UK.
We were delighted to work alongside Keller at a recent grout compaction contract for HS2.
Using a bespoke version of our Soil Mixing instrumentation package which had been modified specifically for this project, Keller was able to maintain stringent control of the installation of several thousand grout compacted boreholes. All of the rigs were connected to our NDTDataCloud portal. This allowed Keller staff to view the ongoing progress of the contract on a near real-time basis, with no requirement for any engineer to visit the site. We were delighted to supply CFA & Soil Mixing instrumentation for Keller's new Soilmec SF-55, the first rig of its kind worldwide. https://www.keller.co.uk/news/world-first-kellers-cfa-fleet Picture above courtesy of Keller UK.
Working with specialist contractor Ground Developments Ltd at their Mass Mixing contract in Lossiemouth on a rainy day in November. Using a combination of NDT sensors and GPS inputs, we were able to tailor an instrumentation and monitoring solution which fit GDL's specific requirements. Having near real-time online access to the construction data via NDT's unique 'NDTDataCloud' application enabled the construction data to be monitored remotely. This proved hugely cost effective and enabled GDL's engineers to keep a very close watch on key production information as the contract progressed. GDL Project Director Wayne Barr said 'It's been a busy few months to achieve compliance in a data driven BIM environment, GDL partnered with NDTechnology to engineer a combined geodetic, grout pressure, flow, depth and mixing system for the GDL MMX operation. Utilising, our SoilMec Pumping solution, Trimbles RTK GNSS GCS system for localised positioning, NDTs Pressure, volume and flow information, we are able to provide realtime information to our onsite operators, whilst also enabling quality assurance review from the office. The system brings a new level of quality to the deep soil mixing and mass mixing field, which will further benefit GDLs ground improvement solutions.' CFA rigs with auger extensions and wired concrete pressure sensors require a recoil drum to allow the rotary table to move independently of the rotary table whilst maintaining a signal from the sensor. How often do you need to replace a drum where the cable has been overstretched, or caught / snagged and damaged the recoil mechanism ? How much down time is caused ? How much extra concrete have you used whilst the pressure sensor was not working ? With NDT's innovative wireless concrete pressure sensor, expensive recoil drums and cumbersome cable extensions become a thing of the past. The wireless sensors fit into a standard NDT pipe boss and are simple to incorporate into existing NDT systems. Very low powered electronics and high capacity batteries ensure the sensors can be used for up to 2 years before a battery change is required.
Having a working concrete pressure sensor is vital for rig operators to confidently extract to lower oversupply targets. In turn, this can significantly reduce your excess concrete volumes which means a wireless concrete sensor upgrade could pay for itself in a matter of days. Please call our office to discuss your requirements or to obtain a quotation. Keller Ground Engineering has been installing 900mm diameter soil-mix columns with a Mait HR100 at a site in Hampshire. Using the onboard PL3000/SoilMix monitoring & control system, Keller was able to construct each column to precise specified targets of both revs per metre and slurry volume per metre. The comprehensive construction data from each column were uploaded automatically within seconds of completion to the online NDTDataCloud application where they were immediately accessible by Keller staff worldwide. |
