The PL3000/CFA instrumentation system supplied by NDT for this rig includes our Mast Inclination and 'TrueTorque' options.
The proprietary TrueTorque option allows the system to determine the instantaneous auger torque irrespective which gear has been selected by the rig operator.
With TrueTorque, the system can also determine 'Drilling Resistance' - this is the rotary equivalent of a set, as used within driven piling, and is specifically related to the compressive strength / cone resistance of the soil.
Developed by NDT and only available on our PL3000/CFA instrumentation systems, Drilling Resistance is used by customers worldwide as a definable boring target to ensure that piles drilled to refusal (or into rock) are done so consistently and, if required, to a specified 'rock hardness'.
